I have a strong passion for backpacking, climbing, skiing. As the Director of Operations for Ascend, I was introduced to the outdoors by my best friend, Sam Kinch, and I have never turned away from it.

In 2003, I completed the Wilderness Leadership Course taught by Summit Adventure, a Christian wilderness organization based in Fresno, California. Since then, I attended the top rope management courses through Adirondack Mountain Guides and Phily Rock Gym and the Map, Compass and GPS course through North West School of Survival in Mount Hood, Oregon.

My father took me camping at a very young age. I recall vivid memories of the mountains in Washington State; Mount Rainier is still my favorite mountain and I always look forward to hiking its trails. That passion continues today but has changed to something individual into a strong desire for sharing the wilderness experience with the youth of today.
